It was in Europe and USA where FFIX only managed to sell 2.5 combined, which is horrible, which again was cause the casual fanbase was already moved on to the PS2 by then. In Japan however it sold 2.7 million, not far from FFVII's 2.8 mil, FFVIII's 3.5 million(which only sold so much cause of FFVII hype) and FFX's 2.9 million.
It obviously is a business decision.Īnd to the people saying IX sold poorly.yea, cause it released 3 months after the PS2 was out in the USA/European region. There's a reason SE greenlit a FFIX cartoon. Which is why FFIX is likely to be remade immediately.
